On May 23rd, the College of Pharmacy at the University of Sulaimani hosted an event to mark World No-Tobacco Day. Fourth-year students presented informative posters highlighting the harmful effects of tobacco consumption on health and the environment.
The dean, Dr.Twana Mohsin Salih, commended the students’ efforts, saying, “Our future pharmacists demonstrated passion and expertise in highlighting the dangers of tobacco use through their posters.”
The event provided a platform for discussions with faculty, healthcare professionals, and students. A discussion featured experts sharing insights on tobacco’s long-term effects, challenges in tobacco control, and pharmacists’ role in cessation programs.
The College recognises pharmacists’ crucial role in raising awareness about tobacco’s dangers and supporting individuals in adopting a smoke-free lifestyle. Events like this empower future pharmacists to advocate for public health and contribute to the fight against the global tobacco epidemic.

بە ناوی کۆلێژەوە هیوای سەرکەوتن بۆ خوێندکاران دەخوازین هیوادارین نمونەیان زۆربێت و لە داهاتودا ڕۆڵی کاریگەرییان هەبێت لە هۆشیارکردنەوەی کۆمەڵگا لە زیانە زۆرەکانی جگەرەکێشان لەسەر تەندروستی.
Workshop: Laboratory Risk Assessment for Pharmacy Academic Staff
A workshop on laboratory risk assessment, specifically designed for pharmacy academic staff, will be held on March 10, 2025, from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM in the Seminar Hall. The workshop will be presented by Dr. Dlivan F. Aziz and Pshtiwan Ghari Ali.

On February 6, 2025, (Assist. Prof. Dr. Tawan Mohsen Saleh), the Dean of the College of Pharmacy at Sulaimani University, along with the academic staff, welcomed (Prof. Dr. Saif Jabbar Almayah), the representative of the President of Kufa University, and a delegation of colleagues, which included several instructors and top-year students from the College of Pharmacy at Kufa University. During the meeting, discussions were held regarding the strengthening of relations between the two parties, particularly focusing on scientific collaboration and the implementation of joint projects.
