On May 23rd, the College of Pharmacy at the University of Sulaimani hosted an event for 4th-year students to present posters on environmental health and toxicity issues. The posters covered air pollution, water contamination, waste management, and pharmacists’ role in sustainable healthcare practices.
The dean, Dr. Twana Mohsin Salih, praised the students’ efforts, saying, “Our students demonstrated an exceptional understanding of the environment’s impact on public health through their informative posters.”
The event provided a platform for students to engage with faculty, professionals, and peers through discussions and a panel with experts from various fields, including environmental science and public health.
The College of Pharmacy continues integrating environmental health education, recognizing pharmacists’ crucial role in promoting sustainable practices and raising awareness about environmental factors affecting human health.
Special Seminar & Activity for First-Year Students on Environmental Awareness
Today, the College of Pharmacy hosted an engaging special seminar and activity focused on environmental care and awareness. Under the theme “Say No to Plastic Bottles,” Prof. Dr. Bushra, in collaboration with the Guidance Committee, organized this initiative for all first-year students.

The Pharmacy College at the University of Sulaimani proudly announced the successful completion of the training course “Unlocking ZipGrade’s Potential: Tips, Tricks, and Best Practices,” presented by Assistant Lecturer Pshtiwna Gharib Ali on March 27, 2025.
Participants engaged in hands-on exercises, gaining valuable insights into using ZipGrade to enhance grading efficiency. The course attracted faculty and staff eager to improve their assessment methods.

The workshop on laboratory risk assessment for pharmacy academic staff was successfully conducted today, March 10, 2025, from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM in the Seminar Hall. Dr. Dlivan F. Aziz and assistant lecturer Pshtiwan Ghari Ali presented comprehensive information on risk assessment procedures and best practices specific to pharmacy laboratory environments. Attendees gained valuable insights into hazard identification and mitigation strategies. The workshop provided essential knowledge for maintaining safe laboratory conditions for both teaching and research activities.
